Many of our herbs grow <strong>wild<\/strong> in the countryside, and since our cuisine is essentially poor-inspired, the Ligurian people, who have always been particularly creative, adopted them to <strong>flavor dishes in place of the<\/strong> formerly very expensive <strong>spices<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Today <strong>Liguria<\/strong>, and especially the <strong>Plain of Albenga<\/strong>, is known <strong>throughout Europe<\/strong> for the production of <strong>herbs<\/strong>, from the most classic, such as<strong> basil, rosemary, sage, lavender, and marjoram, to the most modern and imaginative, such as mojito mint or aftereight mint or pineapple sage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over time, some Albenga companies have <strong>created ad hoc brands<\/strong> for distribution both in Italy and abroad for <strong>our celebrated aromatics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But what is so special about our herbs?<strong> Ligurian herbs are fragrant and particularly aromatic<\/strong>, thanks to our <strong>favorable<\/strong> and always <strong>sunny<\/strong> <strong>climate<\/strong> and to the influence of <strong>the mountains and the sea<\/strong>, whose <strong>breeze<\/strong> gives them <strong>unmistakable characteristics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aromatics have many uses<\/strong>: in the kitchen to<strong> flavor dishes<\/strong>, <strong>in the garden and on terraces<\/strong> to beautify, in herbal medicine for the preparation of <strong>infusions or beverages<\/strong>, in chemical industries for the <strong>production of beneficial essential oils<\/strong>, in <strong>perfumery for the preparation of perfumes<\/strong>, creams, in the<strong> medical field <\/strong>&#8230; in short, they really have a<strong> thousand uses and a thousand virtues!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In <strong>cooking<\/strong> they have the great power to impart characteristic <strong>taste and flavor<\/strong>, so you can also <strong>limit salt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The colorful and highly fragrant <strong>lavender<\/strong> is also counted among the <strong>aromatics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is a beautiful plant that can be used for <strong>ornamental purposes<\/strong>, for its <strong>magnificent scent<\/strong>,<strong> in cooking in desserts and in cosmetics<\/strong>, with the preparation of lotions, oils, waters and soaps.<\/p>\n<p>This is the peak availability period for herbs.
